Children’s Mental Heath Week

02/02/24

At IDL we are proud to support Children’s Mental Health Week and help make a difference to the lives of children and young people across the UK. It is estimated that 1 in 6 children have a diagnosable mental health issue, so it’s important to support children and help them to understand and address unwelcome emotions as well as encourage positive ones.

To ensure that as many pupils as possible can access the support they need, we are offering all schools a 6-month free trial of IDL Wellbeing or one year free with an IDL purchase! This programme has been developed alongside a children’s psychologist using contemporary theories and mindfulness practices to help pupils develop their resilience, confidence and learn how to keep mentally healthy.

Children’s Mental Health Week is organised by the Place2Be charity and takes place on the 5th-11th of February. Now in its 10th year, the goal is to encourage more people than ever to help reach the goal that no child or young person has to face a mental health problem alone.

Actor Tom Holland has always been open about the impact dyslexia has had on him and the challenges he faces, not only within his acting career but in his day-to-day life. 🕸️

In interviews, Tom has shared advice for others experiencing similar difficulties, highlighting the importance of creativity and thinking outside the box:

“Any way that you can, as a young person or as an adult, interact with something that forces you to be creative and forces you to think outside the box and make changes.”

We’re currently seeing a lot more of Tom on the big screen, with his latest appearances in Spider-Man and The Odyssey, and it’s great to see him continuing to share his story and raise awareness of dyslexia! 🙌
