IDL Phonics is a powerful new independent phonics learning tool for pupils aged 4+, designed to help children become confident, fluent readers through engaging, structured and multi-sensory learning. Fully aligned with the UK National Curriculum and Letters and Sounds framework, the programme provides systematic phonics instruction through interactive lessons that adapt to each learner.

How it works

Every pupil begins with a placement assessment, which creates a personalised learning pathway tailored to their current ability. The programme then guides them through carefully sequenced lessons, supported by:

• Clear progress tracking for teachers and teaching assistants

Comprehensive phonics coverage

IDL Phonics develops all essential phonics skills, including blending and segmenting,  phoneme manipulation, sight word recognition, decoding and reading fluency. Multi-sensory elements such as letter tracing, audio cues, and visual prompts help reinforce learning and improve retention — making the programme particularly supportive for pupils with dyslexia or additional learning needs.
