The IDL Story

IDL was devised in the mid 1980s by educators working with the Starcross Educational Research Association. In 2012 a programme was funded by the Big Lottery called Lifting Barriers.

This allowed IDL to be developed for use within a school environment in conjunction with SENCO leaders. Over a three year period IDL was placed in to 120 primary and secondary schools across the North West. IDL was required to show an increase in reading and spelling ages along with an increase in confidence and self-esteem for those pupils with dyslexia or dyslexic type difficulties.

The results showed an average increase in reading and spelling ages of 11 months after only 26 hours use.

We're supporting @_place2be 's #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek!

This year's theme is 'This is My Place' and together, we’re championing the power of belonging, encouraging families, schools and communities to create inclusive, nurturing spaces where every child feels seen, heard and accepted.

Our IDL intervention software provides both academic and emotional support for learners, helping to build strong academic foundations that contribute significantly to pupils’ emotional development. By creating an environment in which pupils feel supported and capable, their overall wellbeing improves naturally.

The software choice school leaders are locking in this budget cycle 🤩

We understand the importance of strategically planning school budgets to maximise spend and we know you want to put learners first, but with increasingly tight funding, it can be challenging to find programmes that provide advanced support at a price that fits within school budgets.

The IDL specialist software delivers targeted support at a competitive and sustainable price point. To trial any of the IDL products for free, click here 👉https://idlsgroup.com/book-a-free-trial/
For many dyslexic learners, difficulties with reading, spelling and writing are noticed early, but support does not always arrive early enough.

When dyslexia is identified and addressed at an early stage, learners are far more likely to develop strong literacy foundations, confidence in their abilities and a positive relationship with learning that lasts throughout their education. 📚
