Yes it can! IDL is available on most tablets including iPads and Android devices. Please take a look at our webpage https://idlsgroup.com/eu/ways-to-access-idl for more information about all the ways you can access IDL.
The test used for IDL Numeracy is a placement test. As a placement test it is used within the programme to determine the best starting point for each pupil and to compare the pupil’s ability against age related expectations. The test could also be used as an initial baselining test for all your pupils. The test should not be considered a diagnostic tool for neurological disorders or learning disabilities.
The most frequently used number patterns are Chinn Patterns, but it also uses Number blocks with various lessons.
If the learners are not hearing the words being spoken when going through the lessons, please can you test if you can play this audio file by clicking on the link below?

If this is blocked and isn’t playing, it could be that your IT team have blocked the playing of MP3 files at your school.
To lock a product for a pupil you can just simply un-enrol them. To do this go to ‘People’ > click pupils name > ‘manage’ > unselect the product.
If you access IDL through a browser please be aware that IDL is only compatible with the Google Chrome web browser. We have done this to ensure a consistent experience, reduce costs and help us to provide better and more targeted support.
Yes. In fact this is probably one of the most common uses of IDL Numeracy amongst our customers. Because or your pupils can work independently at their own level and pace, then you could probably have a group of 10 or more for only one facilitator.
Yes and no. IDL does not cover any topics from KS3, however, many of our Secondary schools use IDL Numeracy for those recently transitioned pupils who are behind where they need to be. This allows them to catch up more quickly than they would otherwise. Of course anyone who suffers from a disorder such a Dyscalculia would benefit from IDL Numeracy at any age.
This really depends on the ability of the pupil but on average a test will take about half an hour. The test is fully online and your pupils will be asked up to 120 graded questions. The test will stop after three consecutive wrong answers. If your pupil needs more time than available to complete a test they can simply save the test and continue from where they left off at another time.
For many dyslexic learners, difficulties with reading, spelling and writing are noticed early, but support does not always arrive early enough.
When dyslexia is identified and addressed at an early stage, learners are far more likely to develop strong literacy foundations, confidence in their abilities and a positive relationship with learning that lasts throughout their education. 📚
